The internet was flooded with articles about the alleged split two days ago but the fans were not believing it due to the lack of sufficient proof.

Earlier this week, Entertainment Tonight released an article stating that the Conversations with Friends actor was not seen at her Eras Tour because they had broken up. But, the Swifties were not having any of it. They assumed that the British actor was not seen because he was busy filming the movie. Oh, how we wish this was true!

Why did Taylor Swift and Joe Alywn break up after 6 years of dating?
According to the latest People article, the source has disclosed that the split was caused due to “differences in their personalities”.
“They’ve had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together,” says the source, confirming that “ultimately they weren’t the right fit for one another.”
Fans speculate that Taylor Swift first met Joe Alwyn at the 2016 Met Gala, thanks to her amazingly descriptive lyrics, “…Flashback when you met me, Your buzzcut and my hair bleached, Even in my worst times, You could see the best of me…” from her song Dress.

“They had plenty in common and fell in love in a safe bubble while she was retreating from the world during Reputation,” adds the source, referring to Taylor Swift’s 2017 studio album. “Then the pandemic hit, and they were locked down together and able to continue growing their relationship in this insulated way.
